This boat was delivered to Art's marine service in Lakewood Ohio.It was sold to its first owner in 1947. It was built in newpoprt news Va. The hull number is10037. It was the 91st of 650 Ensign models built at the Gar Wood factory in Newport News The boat was kept in Ohio and . It was sold to the 2 who owner it for 40 years.rd owner, also in Ohio. in the lae 50's, and the 3rd owner in the 3003.He had it completely restored. It was a 99 point show winner. One point was deducted because the beading on the upholstery was the wrong color. It still won many awards. It is now with the 6th owner.

This a two owner boat that has been meticulously maintain as it was own by a wood boat craftsman. I love this boat but moving overseas and need to sell it to classic boat lovers. Lots of money has been spent on this boat

1956 MERCURY SABRE 16. ft. MAHOGANY RUNABOUT, with in-line 6 Gray Marine original motor.  Upholstery: vinyl, white with red piping. I believe the motor is roughly 100 HP.    Original wood trailer, needs new windshield, carburetor re-build, new battery, re-wire. Have complete new gasket set. I would consider this boat as more a ‘needs work’ rather than a ‘project boat’.  The structure and hull are sound, interior re-painted, and do not believe the engine to have any issues.  This mahogany runabout is a vintage classic: 1956 Mercury Sabre, 16 ft. Wooden Power Boat. Best as I know, it is complete with original trim, gauges, forward/reverse lever, etc. I purchased the boat with my neighbor, and intentions of us polishing it up ourselves.  Reminded me of the wood Chris Craft lake boats I grew up with. It was in running order when we purchased.  But with both of our busy professional lives, time has not been on our side. We did perform some work on the boat, but have never put it in the water.  We crafted a new stainless exhaust manifold, painted the interior hull, replaced all the visible screws with stainless, installed a new stiffening plate behind where the propellor shaft exits. Carburetors need to be cleaned/rebuilt.  The vinyl-upholstered seats and motor cover are in good shape.  It has been tarped since we purchased in 2009.   The exterior mahogany would look terrific if it were refinished.  The interior is in quite good shape.  We were planning to rewire, since the previous owner had installed all the same-color wiring.  The windshield is an acrylic replacement that is damaged and needs to be replaced.  Original wood trailer and Mercury hubcaps.  Have rebuild kits for the dual carburetors.  Wish we had found to time to work on it…Fixed up, this boat will be a beauty!    If you have any questions call 949-230-3628, Steve. Purchased in 2021 from previous owner who had the boat professionally restored (I have documentation and photos) with 5200 bottom. Boat sat in his garage until his son sold it to me (I think I am the 3rd owner) Since I have had the boat I have made several upgrades. We are the 3rd owner. It’s Always been in Oregon. there is some naval history with it with the Navy license number on it during the war and it was on the Columbia river we have pictures of that and it’s just been well maintained in Oregon

This boat was 1 of 4 built by Fred Heim of Sudbury Mass. I acquired 2 of them about 15 years ago and they've been stored inside ever since. To be honest, I don't know a lot about this boat. It belonged to my uncle, who purchased the boat in the late 1990s. He put a fair amount of money and time into fixing it up and restoring it. He enjoyed it for many years on a freshwater lake in Seattle, WA. The boat was not used much in the last several years of his life, but was always under cover. He has since passed, and I unfortunately need to sell it to someone who will enjoy it and appreciate it like he did. It has a newer trailer that comes with it, which was purchased new to move it once to its new location. I started it the summer before last, and it was running fine, but most likely needs a tune-up. He named the boat after his late wife, Clara, who was his first love.

1920 New England Boat Works gaff-rigged antique sailing dinghy. This was my grandfather's boat he purchased new after WW1, and it was sailed first in the Saranac Lake, NY area, and then in the Minerva, NY area in the Adirondacks, until recently where it spent its whole life as a freshwater boat. It will need to go into the water to swell up again. 11'-6" hull, 15'-0" overall to bowsprit, 4'=8" beam, draws about 9" with centerboard up. Barn door rudder, centerboard. Comes with a Load Rite galvanized trailer. The bottom of the mast will need to be scarfed to add 6 - 12" as it was left in water. Mast rigging could be changed if desired to be more original. Sails can be used for pattern; main is semi-serviceable but jib is torn. Main should have height added at the luff to raise gaff; see photo for height of gaff compared to gaff uphaul tackle.

Engine is from 1954 and was originally of 256 cu in displacement, in 2004 completely machine shop rebuild, cylinders bored 80 over, new pistons, new bearings, balanced, upgraded reground 292 crankshaft, actual displacement is 295 cu in, upgraded the intake manifold to a aluminum 'Blue Thunder' 4-barrel ready intake, but the original intake with the 2 side draft carters is also with it. Complete with Marine exhaust manifolds and raw water cooling timing cover. Engine was originally used in a Buehler/Dowty Turbocraft Jet boat. Used for 8 years in wooden hull 1954 jet boat until it was laid up with oiled cylinders as a spare engine. Very good compression, low hours.

Originally a pure racer, these boats were built with spruce frames and 1/4" ply decks and topsides to save weight, and flat bottoms for optimal speed. The driver kneeled in the cockpit and moved his weight fore and aft to trim the boat. This version is built with mahogany frames, a 1/2" deck and an 18 gallon aluminum tank under the foredeck. Seating is provided in the front and rear cockpit and comfortably seats five adults. It also features a high tech V-hull design for a comfortable ride and excellent tracking and cornering. The 90 hp 2-stroke Yamaha is in like new condition and propels the boat at speeds up to 55 mph. Driving it is an absolute joy. This is a lightly used fresh water setup. The lightweight rig is easy to launch and retrieve; the only hold-up at the ramp is people wanting to talk to you about it. I am a professional woodworker and helped build the boat in 1997 and have owned it since. I'm moving to a smaller home and storage space will be tight.

Purchased in February 2018 on Bringatrailer.com as a 1961 fully functional boat in fresh water in Maine. Turned out to be a 1962 that had been improperly listed and improperly re upholstered. Brought it to Barry Ford in Trumansburg NY. He had restored our 1932 ChrisCraft previously. He stripped everything off and out of the hull, flipped it over and began the 3 year restoration. Replaced the ribs, the chine, the engine bunks, the transom and a no soak bottom went on. Replaced the engine with a sealed system PowerMarine 5.7 EFI and transmission. Reupholstered the entire boat from scratch based upon original photos and patterns drawn in the boat. (Not a kit) so between this, thw USB ports, the new engine, 3 inch exhausts and slight modification in the paint design it is a restomod. All chrome was replated as well. Between price of purchase and restoration I have spent more than 120k on the project. Really love it but love our Chris Craft more.

Same owner last 28 years. Certificate of Authenticity from the Century Boat Club and featured in their Thoroughbred magazine. The boat has been well maintained but not restored. It would need some work to be a user boat but would need restoration to be a showboat. The engine runs great and has a MercCruiser brass oil pan, Edelbrock marine 4-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, and no-mess oil changing. The cover is custom made with a vent and can withstand feet of snow.
