Learn how the process works (FAQ)
Last in the water in 1985 this is the oldest boat ever built in Florida and still in existence. Built on Miami Beach for Carl Fisher who developed Miami Beach and communities on New York's Long Island. Fisher wooed the Purdy brothers away from consolidated shipping of Morris Heights, N.Y., in 1915 and set them up in business as Purdy Boat Company on the infield of Indianapolis Speedway. Fisher, who originally was from Indianapolis owned the speedway. He contracted the brothers to build for him two 46ft Express cruisers, Raven I and Raven II and then moved with him to Miami beach where he put them to work building express cruisers for his wealthy friends. These fast cruisers were designed mainly for racing and they put Miami beach on the map with events like, ocean races to Palm Beach, Bimini and Key West. Later this boat would go on to be owned for many years John Stroh of Stroh's beer fame. Boat is unrestored but in reasonably good shape but does require restoration.
