Learn how the process works (FAQ)
Here's a great day-cruiser or overnighter for inland waterways. A 1952 40' Wheeler Sportfisherman, she's planked with one-inch mahogany and the interior finished in mahogany trim and cabinets. She's equipped with two (2) hundred gallon fuel tanks, a hundred gallon brass water tank and a 40 gallon holding tank Her bottom and sides are freshly painted and she's been cruising on the Hudson River for the past 10 years. Built in the Bronx , NY by Wheeler Shipbuilding, the same yard that constructed Hemmingway's "Pilar" in 1934. For many years she was owned by a Family who were members of the Locust Point Yacht Club. The Father & Son worked as shipwrights in nearby City Island. Wheeler had taken over the bankrupt Dawn Boat Company's boatyard on Pugsley Creek in the Bronx in 1949. From time to time when sales were not keeping up they would sell a hull in an effort to raise funds. These gents bought one of these, finished her off and this is the boat that you see today.
