In the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, these Guideboats were commonplace throughout the Adirondack region of New York. Light and nimble; ideal for fishing, trapping, and scouting new areas. This boat is from the Saranac Lake, NY area from the 1870's and possibly built by F. W. Rice as researched by Dr. Stephen Sulavik, noted guideboat historian. She was restored in the early 1990's, but needs to be refreshed to be water-ready again. It has seats, a full length one piece cherry floor board, and a set of 8' Shaw & Tenney reproduction oars.
