"Glory Days" was built in 1902 by the Rochester Launch company of Rochester, New York. It was originally powered by naphtha heated under pressure. A Stuart 6A steam engine was installed in 1985 after a complete renovation. In 1902 steam powered launches were considered the ideal vehicle for a leisurely afternoon. Powered often by coal or wood fired steam boilers they were quiet, slow and steady. The launches "plum bow" and "fantail stern" were typical of the period. The boat is constructed of cedar, oak and white pine.
