This is a great Old Town Canoe. It is a 17 foot HW (heavy water) Model, CS (Common Sense) Grade with open spruce gunwhales and a keel. The Hull ID number is 123549 which according to the build sheet was built and delivered to Nelson W. Babb of Southwick, Mass on September 23, 1938. The original color was called Princeton Orange and was thought of as a "School Color". The name BABBS is stamped on the stringers. The canoe is in good shape structurally and is watertight. This is a great Pre-War Antique with lots of history and would look good in the water or great as a decorative piece.
