A long time ago someone told me the issue with a wood boat was that you weren't buying it new and maintaining from new, which meant projects up front! This well maintained Skiff is far from that! This 1959 has been loved its whole life and somehow managed to be kept under roof. The entire boat has under 700 hours since new and under 100 hours on her twin, original but over-hauled KL engines (serial # 203843 and 203841) She was built in 1958 as a 1959 model and the blocks come up as 1957 and are original to the boat. This is a very very hard to find model! It was sold as a Chris Craft 26-foot Sea Skiff "Fisherman." What separates it from the “Cruiser” is that the cabin does not have a table and is pushed further forward which increased the deck size to 8 X 12. Yes, that is a very desirable deck size! You still do get a kitchenette with pressurized water, head, and V-berths. This survivor is 90% plus original (wood and hardware). We even have the original battery boxes, alternators, and anchor. The decks have been replaced due to age; the hull is 100% original down to the keel! No rot! No damage! In the last 10 years she has been bottom stripped, CPES applied, barrier coated, and bronzed. Bronze just touched up in 2018. She has new decks and new upper deck paint in 2018. The hull was completely stripped in the last 3 years down to bare spruce. CPES was applied and the boat re-faired. New paint in 2018. Six coats of varnish just applied to the transom. Two new deep cell interstate batteries just dropped in in June of 2018. The entire electrical system is updated. Very original, but the “musts” updated to keep her safe and comfortable on the water. The twin KL engines run like a clock and will allow you to hit speeds in the low 30s. She sits on top of a custom 2014 loaded Load Rite Elite trailer that allows you to launch and retrieve this Skiff! She weighs in at about 8,140 lbs dry (trailer and Skiff). Notice the trailer is designed for low maintenance with stainless brakes, upgraded jack, aluminum rims, matching spare, LED lights. The trailer alone was $6,800 and we could have easily purchased a matching steel trailer, but this is not a show boat. This Skiff is a survivor meant to be used! Don’t let this one pass you by! You would be hard pressed to duplicate the model, condition, and work put into her especially at this price. WAIT! There is one more thing. We do have a complete convertible top and enclosure. It is newer, bright, clear non yellowed windows…..basically a newer top that cost $4,600 but one corner did manage to snag a tree branch and is torn. I just haven’t had time to get it repaired. It will probably cost a few hundred dollars to repair it. The good news is we have it and the frame!
