1958 26' Sports Express hull number SX-042 of only 48 ever built, one of only 24 with twin MCL power. Bottom was replaced in 2014 with no-soak 5200 bottom by Mackie Boat Works. Top end of the MCL’s were done about the same time by Hinkel. Most of the chrome was re-plated by Graves in 2017. Hand-painted gold leaf transom and numbers by Todd Hanson in 2017. Registration numbers are on removable plates for ease of re-painting and re-numbering if desired. The windshield is a mahogany frame with conventional stainless framed flip-out glass and a center post, most of these boats had a stainless frame with a single center flip-out and generated common complaints regarding poor air flow plus obstructed view forward. The original seats have been improved with stainless sliding mounts and custom footrest boxes. Cabin floors and cabinetry have been rebuilt and upgraded with mahogany marine plywood. The cabin, hull sides and decks were all repainted last winter and multiple coats of varnish applied. A mahogany rear bench was added by a previous owner and matching cushions for the bench and engine boxes provide for plenty of seating. Twin Chris Craft (Hercules) MCL flathead 6 cylinder motors, 175 HP each, serial numbers 300316 and 300306 match the original build sheet. Top end rebuild by Hinkel around 2014. Compression check (cold) on 6/26/19 yielded 110-120 psi all cylinders.
