The 1938 19 foot Sportsman is a very rare and desirable boat. At 19 feet it is the smallest Triple cockpit and has seating for eight people. The Aft Cockpit faces to the rear and affords you an opportunity to watch world behind you as glide thru your favorite lake or river. This was a unique design for 1938 that included two smaller seats in the Engine compartment. The front cockpit is very stylish and you ride on the comfort of blue leather seats. This boat departed the factory in 1937 and went to Chicago. In July of 1939 it returned to the factory for some minor work and once again departed the factory in July of 1939 and went to Pontiac, Michigan. Over the years it ended up in Virginia and my father and I bought it and brought it back to life. From the ACBS perspective it’s considered a “Preserved Boat”. All the bottom frames, side frames and deck frames are all original as is the sides and decks. No replacement wood. The Interior wood is all original with factory stamps on most pieces. The Ceiling boards are also original. The only modification to the boat is the new wood on the bottom using the WEST System. The engine is the original 95HP and has been completely rebuilt along with the Reverse Gear. New fuel tanks were necessary and replicate the original tanks. Boat was stripped and sanded---restained and Varnished. It has a mirror finish and all the chrome has been replaced. Instrument panel has been replated and has the original gauges along with the Banjo Wheel. Boat comes complete with custom trailer with cut out side lighting. This boat is show ready and would score very high at the ACBS International Show
