Learn how the process works (FAQ)
The Western Fairliner was built in limited numbers by the Western Boat Building Company from 1947 to 1951. In all 32 of these units were built. They were 17 Feet in length offering 6 foot beam. The base price was $3150 in those heady days. The frames originally were built of Sitka Spruce to allow the boats to achieve maximum speed. The hull was plank and enjoys a layer of 3M 5200 which allows for a no soak bottom. The hull is planked in Meranti which is less dense than Mahogany. The boat is overall in very good to excellent condition and catches admiring looks whenever it is seen. There are art deco details such as the cutwater and the torpedo stern is unique for a boat of this size. The owner has had this boat since 1997 and enjoyed it immensely. It has been in storage since 2015 and has only 5 hours since being rebuilt. It is now ready to be transferred to a new custodian who will provide the care and stewardship for the next generation
