I purchased this Dunphy from the original owner, Mr Paul Bradish. He purchased the boat, motor and trailer, as well as a new ‘56 Buick from the same dealer in Western PA. He put the entire package in storage in 1960 in his heated warehouse where it remained until he passed away in 2015. All 3 remained in very nice original condition. During the restoration, the motor was taken to a specialist with the instructions to do whatever necessary to make it perfect. The boat was then taken to Heritage Boatworks of North East, Maryland for assessment. They were amazed at the original and excellent condition of the wood, the decks, the interior and the hull. Northeast Boatworks was instructed to take the decks all the way down and refinish. All chrome replated, trailer restored. The upholstery is original and in excellent condition. The upholstery matches the flow of the two tone mahogany decks. The interior is fully upholstered-since this is the highest-end model Dunphy sold. The boat has an electric starter and rod steering ( no cables). Dunphys were made in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and one of the highest quality outboards at the time. 1st place winner in the preserved category.
