1947 Antique Vintage Cedar Strip Penn Yan style Car Top Boat . This is a 12 foot cedar strip “car top” boat that weighs about 120 pounds, a great boat for restoration. My father bought this boat in 1947 brand new, it worked well but the practice of placing wet burlap bags over the hull hours before taking it out fishing (so that the wood would swell and not leak) was time consuming, that is why so many people opted to apply the thin fiberglass covering during that era, which we did and it solved that issue. This boat was stored in a barn unused since 1958 until pulled down recently to sell, it worked well when it was stored, the ores are not included and unfortunately the back-rest for the middle bench is misplaced and thus not included. It worked and floated well when it was stored in 1958. I have not had it in the water since then.
