This is a rare St. Lawrence Skiff built by Alfred Jackson in Ogdensburg, NY between 1897 & 1902. Jackson built boats for only a handful of years and this is believed to be possibly the only living survivor left. This 18 foot long Guide boat is made of white cedar with mahogany top deck (bow and stern) and is finished natual. 90 percent of the boards are original as well as the keel. Original Jackson plate, thole pins, seat brackets, and mooring eye. Chair has been recaned and is in excellent condition. Includes a new pair of Shaw & Tenney Oars that were custom made for this boat. 4 year restoration was completed in 2005 using authentic means whenever possible with all pictures available. Several shows throughout the Northeast have contacted the owner to try to get the boat to their shows since completion. Boat was featured in October/November 2006 issue of Wooden Boat Magazine.
