She skims like a Loon! Weighs only 100 lb with 800 lb payload. In 2015 my husband and I commissioned Jeff to custom build by hand this beautiful Dory. Built from French mahogany (okimum) and coated with fiberglass, Jeff'added lots of special touches: Keweenay Bird's eye Maple stern seatback, leather oar grips, brass oar locks, superb joinery, seams, beautiful set of oars, 62 sq inch lug rig sail. Functionally all 3 benches have oar pin holders. the long rudder control rod enables a solo sailer to manage rudder, center board, sail, and oars from the center bench. She draws 24" under sail, 5 ' rowing. Sadly, she's only been in the water 3 times for a total of three hours. As we are selling our cabin in Eagle harbor, MI (where the boat is) we need to sell quickly, by September 20, 2026. Includes trailer, cover, life jackets.

"Theia Eirene" -- This stunning and very usable antique Thames River Skiff is 26’ long (27’ including rudder), 4’ 7” at the beam, and comes with a 28’ long trailer. This gem was built by E. Messum & Sons in the 1870’s in a Richmond, England boatyard on the banks of the Thames. It was lovingly restored by famed former Harvard University wooden racing boat builder Graeme King of King Boatworks. The boat has a bench seat with table, two in-line rowing seats, a seat behind the rowers in the bow and a stern seat behind the bench. The woods used are Honduran mahogany and English oak and they are joined by copper rivets. King used two layers of 23 K Russian Restorer’s gold leaf for the extensive decorative gilding. The original fittings are silver (a sign that the boat was made for the wealthy, as every-day rental Thames River Skiffs used cheaper metal fittings) and the builder’s plate is solid silver. It was warranted by Queen Victoria and is the Rolls Royce of Thames River Skiffs of its vintage. Graeme King states that it is “one of the best examples of this type of boat in existence.” The boat also includes four gold-tipped oars, a docking paddle with gaff, a sail on an insertable mast, and a steering rudder as well as the restorer’s notes, invoices, restoration process photos, and research relating to the boat. The boat can be currently viewed at the Green Mountain Orchards in Putney, Vermont.

This Comet Sailboat was the 6th Comet built in 1935 by the Skaneateles Boat & Canoe Company in Skaneateles, NY. It is hull number 67. It was initially sold to Arnold Tyler of Staten Island NY who sailed it in Chesapeake Bay. My son and I acquired the boat and trailer at a charity auction in 2004. It was in rough shape (I have pre-restoration photos). We worked together for over 12 years to bring the Comet back to life. It is 16ft in length, with a 5ft beam and 130sq ft of sail area. It is fully rigged and comes with its original cotton sails and battens, plus 2 additional sets of sails, all mainsails and jibs. It also has all of its original bronze hardware and centerboard, mahogany trim, boom, rudder and oak tiller. It has been refurbished with period correct brass screws. The original floorboards were not worth saving so we made replacements from spanish cedar, cut and planed to fit. It has an aluminum mast with spreaders and stays which is not period correct. Three 23" hemp boat bumpers are included as well as an additional boom, rudder, bronze centerboard, and various bronze hardware. The Holsclaw trailer pictured is also included. This Comet is a beautiful boat with historical significance having been built in the formative years of the Skaneateles Boat & Canoe Company (previously Bowdish & Company). It is part of the very rich history of boat building and sailing on Skaneateles Lake along with the Lightening, Star and Rhodes Bantam. [PRICE REDUCED - June 2026 -Motivated seller!]

1900s 14’ 1/8”cedar strip sailing canoe Owned by M.M. Boyd and family in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Owners of a large Forrest Company throughout Ontario and Quebec and builder of the Trent Canal. The Canoe ended up at Lake Cowichan in early 1920s 30s as Forrestry exploits moved west with my grandfather Cuss Boyd. My mother was Patricia Boyd, I’m Derek Arnoldi. The boat seems sound and no dry rot. I paddling it as a 8-10 year old.

Boat has been in the family for 100 years. Recently fully restored by Roland Thurlow in Dover Foxcroft, Me. Boat is located in Willamantic Me.

Lana is a Biscayne Bay 14 designed by Nathanael Green Herreshoff in 1925. She is a Suicide class sailboat designed for shoal waters. N.G. Herreshoff was a naval architect, mechanical engineer and yacht designer who produced undefeated America's Cup defenders between 1893 and 1920. His designs are graceful, scientifically engineered and speedy. Those of the 2,000-plus designs by Herreshoff that survive, such as Lana’s, are sought by connoisseurs of classic yachts. Lana lives up to the Herreshoff reputation. She is a delight to sail, well behaved, suprisingly quick and yar, and beautiful! She is great here on the Cheaspeake Bay and tributaries, slipping gracefully between the barrier islands, looking for a secluded beach for a picnic. In 2017, Lana was built in Williamsburg by a master carpenter, the head of marine activity at Jamestown Colony and was number two in command of Pride of Baltimore. After we acquired her 2023, we gave her a new coat of paint and had her name done in gold leaf. Latell Sailmakers in Deltaville washed and went over the sails. We keep her inside in the off season and on a boat lift the rest of the time. Although she has a full cover on the lift, out of prudence we added garboard drains. Being that the only ones available that could be operated from inboard are huge, we hand-crafted them. The stem-head fitting for the forestay was suffering from metal fatigue, so we made a new one of naval brass, 464. It seems she had not been sailed very much, so there were adjustments needed to make sailing more comfortable. We adapted the tiller to hinge up, which is much easier on old folk, and made a custom tiller extension. The jib club was not included when we bought the boat, so we downloaded the original Herreshoff plans from MIT and made one from a nice piece of fir. With a new sheet and Davey & Co lignum vitae bullseye fairleads with bronze eye straps, the self-tacking jib is working beautifully. The main sheet was difficult to handle, especially from the port gunnel due to a bad lead. We added a fairlead block to ease the sheet properly into the cam cleat. That, another block for additional purchase, and a new lighter mainsheet has made the main much more manageable. We try to maintain her elegant provenance but have resorted to the occasional 316 stainless steel and polyester line here and there. Lana was designed to be sculled but the holes for the rowlocks had been cut, abandoned and filled, so we cleaned out the fill and installed new bronze rowlocks on the transom and bought a nice long oar. The tiller extension holds the rudder straight while you scull. She is ready for you to come aboard and enjoy making a lot of carefully built weight move beautifully!

Ninety year old guide boat built in 1934 by Wallace F. Emerson (1874-1953) in Long Lake, NY. Emerson built his guide boats a little wider than most with the angler in mind making it an excellent fly-fishing boat. This boat came from a private camp at the North Woods Club in Minerva, NY. It was professionally restored by Mason Smith and is in excellent condition with all equipment included (oars, yoke and seat backs). Natural finish inside and out.

This cedar strip canoe is in mint condition, handcrafted wooden beauty. This canvas covered, AA Grade,Model H.W. 17 foot red canoe with mahogany gunwales made by the Old Town Canoe Co. of Old Town, Maine USA is a treasured family heirloom. It was lovingly and authentically restored by its original owner alongside a Master Craftsman in 2005, this beautiful canoe has been safely stored in its pristine condition and is found in the estate of our 96 year old father. This collectable, antique, wooden boat in rare excellent condition is now available for sale. Purchased new from Abraham & Straus of Brooklyn, NY in 1924, the original purchase paperwork is included. The canoe was only used in the fresh waters of the Finger Lakes and the Erie Barge Canal. Since it’s complete restoration with authentic Old Town canvas and compliments, it is accompanied by two sets of original, refinished oars. Inscribed on either side of the boat are the letters FI, the boat’s name being our father’s nickname for our mother, ‘Fifi’. This canoe was only used briefly since its completed restoration, 2-3 times in the Erie Canal, alongside our family home. It has since been protectively stored here in Albion, NY. J. H. Rushton’s “Saranac Laker” or “Adirondack or Saranac Lake Boat”, as seen in Rushton’s Rowboats and Canoes, The 1903 Catalog in Perspective, published by the Adirondack Museum and International Marine Publishing, is one of the most-desired of guideboats, both by amateurs and by connoisseurs. Rushton’s shop in Canton, New York, built guideboats from 1888 to 1916, and his design went through three phases. This boat derives from the second period, 1891-92, when he hired a second Saranac Lake builder, Alric Moody, to oversee guideboat construction, a method very different from what Rushton’s craftsmen were used to. Few of Rushton’s earliest guideboats are known today. They had plank seats and square gunwales. They also had typical guideboat decks, let into the gunwales, with pie-slice covering boards, as does this boat. This boat’s caned bow and stern seats, and presumed caned seat-backs, mark it as being of the second period. The far more common boats of the third period, 1893 and later, have strip decks like those of Rushton’s Pleasure rowboats and rounded, or D-shaped, outwales.* So this is a very rare Rushton guideboat. It came down in a family that owned an extremely rustic camp, reached by water only, on South Pond, a particularly beautiful pond near the southern end of Long Lake. It was restored 20 years ago by Long Lake boatbuilder Mason Smith, father of Reuben Smith of Tumblehome Boatshop. Now it is for sale by the original owner’s family. Rushton’s boats in general are highly valued as antiques and as working boats. This boat is missing its original caned seat-backs, single-blade paddle, and yoke. (These accessories can be reproduced.) The price of $13,800 takes that into account as well as some non-original wood in its fabric. At 118 years of age it still calls for vigorous use and is decorative beyond words.

This boat is in beautiful condition and has always been kept covered Ina garage. There is not a ton of information available, but after consulting with a Thompson boat expert, we determined it could possibly be a family Rowboat, pre-World War II. The only markings on the boat are the metal Thompson Bros plate on the deck at the bow.

Vintage cedar strip canoe! Own a piece of history! Beautiful, fully restored, 16-foot vintage canoe from the Chestnut Canoe Company, N.B. Likely the Prospector model with v-shaped transom stern. So smooth on the water. As you can see from the pictures, it’s in great shape. There is -- full-disclosure -- a damaged spot on the ribs near the bow, about the size of a lady's fist. It doesn’t affect the vessel's seaworthiness at all as it is near the rail and it isn’t big enough to affect the sturdiness of the structure.

This classic 18’ sailboat has been owned and operated on Lake George, NY for most of its life. The current owner purchased the boat in 1996 from avid sailors of the Lake George Club. The boat was used in many regattas, earning it the #2 Club Sail. The boat underwent a 2-year professional restoration immediately after purchase in 1996: including the replacement and refastening of all needed planks and frames. A new canvas deck and mahogany trim were installed, and a full repaint was done to bring the boat back to its original, classic glory.  This boat is the perfect addition to a summer on a lake. Includes a custom-made trailer.

Saved from the wood pile in 1989. Properly stored in barn until 2008. It has been professionally restored in 2012 by a retired boat builder, Kenneth Swick from Van Dam boat works in Michigan. "Glory" is a Fancy Boston Whitehall and a replica of The Bailey Boat that is on display in the Mystic Seaport Museum. The design dates back to the 1870's. This boat was referred to as a Fancy Whitehall as her scantlings are reduced to an absolute minimum and her hull lines are drawn extra lean and fine. Whitehalls were known for their breathtaking speed as well as being very seaworthy. This one has three rowing positions for 3 oarsmen or can be rowed using the single sliding seat rig mounted in the middle of the boat. A few years back she was used in the movie "Cannibals" which aired on the History Channel. In that movie, they jury rigged a makeshift sail and had 4 actors in the boat. Some of the photos are taken in calm waters in Oyster Bay L.I. The ones with the jury rig sail are taken off Lloyds Neck on the Long Island Sound with a nice breeze. The boat is built with West system epoxy, 2 layers of fiberglass cloth on the outside 1 layer of 6 oz. cloth on the inside. She has some very special details outlined in a separate list. The hull is all solid red cedar with fluted ash rails and spruce cove strip. Transom & bow seats are spruce to save weight in the ends, the center seats are ash frames with cane centers to save more weight. ( See list for other details ) I worked on this boat for a little over one year as I wanted every detail to be perfect. This is the st boat I've built and it's not easy to part with her. If you're looking for something very speciat, that turns heads, can hold 4 people or just go real fast in any weather this is the boat

This beautiful canoe was made by the Kawartha Métis & N.S. Indian Association (Burleigh Falls, Ontario, Canada) in the 1970's.  Many aspects are very similar to boats built by Peterborough including the ribs, decking, and coamings. It is a fine example of Canadian craftsmanship and is in outstanding original condition. Enjoy a luxurious ride on your favorite lake or use this as a magnificent show piece for your home, B&B or business. This canoe has always been stored indoors, in temperature control and away from direct sunlight. Meticulously cared for over the years and maintained. It was last in the water in 2019 and is watertight and sea worthy. We're selling this beauty because although we love this boat we don't use it with our young kids and we're renovating and need the space. We hope it finds a new home that enjoys it as much as we have. 2 vintage wooden paddles are also included. Although not restored (one has a crack in the blade) they look good and are perfect for a simple DIY restoration project).

Cedar double ended rowing skiff with spoon oars with leathers. Boat came from Muskoka area. Had been owned by the Hand family then another party in Ontario. I got it about 20 years ago and subsequently had some strips, 1/2 keel and a stem replaced by the instructors at Urban Boatbuilders in St Paul. the outer hull was stripped and I varnished with Deks Olje. Our use at the cottage was great but our use is inconvenient by the repeated in and out with soaking when we would return after a few weeks away. Deck batten boards need repair or replacement. All original hardware including the rare foot brace. Interior and gunwales could/should be refinished. Has been in dry storage for 5 years. No trailer, can car top or fit inside a van. Wonderful rowing. Can assist with delivery.

This 26ft Crown Point Sailing Dory was built by expert craftsman Emerson Willard of Wilmington, North Carolina. The Crown Point design is a modern take on the Classic Dory. Built from plywood and covered in fiberglass, Emerson handcrafted these boats by himself with his small sawmill and workshop. The stern has cavity for an outboard motor. Currently powered with a Mercury 210 c.c. outboard. She is in need of some cosmetic restoration at this time but believed to be all complete.

Classic 21ft carvel plank wooden sloop sailboat. This was built in 1952 by AR in Amesbury, MA. The true rocket’s are hard to come by. This boat comes with bran new unused paint for the hull, a brand new deep cycle battery, newer sail and jib (serviced). Custom interior cushions. Sleeps two to three. Small toilet space. Solar recharge system for battery as well.

This canoe is very similar to a 1910s-1920s Old Town but was built by the B. N. Morris Canoe Company in Veazie, Maine in 1914. Morris produced wood and canvas canoes from 1891 until fire destroyed the factory late in 1919. The 17-foot Heavy Water canoe was apparently shipped to Maryland in 1915. It later found its way to the hands of a Warren Proctor, who owned a camp in northern Pittsburg, New Hampshire where it spent most of its life being paddled on the first Connecticut River lake. Upon his death, she was acquired by the current owner. It has been stored inside since. The factory green was repainted with a blue tone which is now cracked and in need of a refresh. The hull is in great shape, no cracked rips or internal damage. The keel is in good shape. The brass bow-strip has fallen off but is still with the boat. Original seats are intact. The hull serial number is 11755.

Old Town Wood-Canvas Sailing Canoe Old Town canoe 130365 is an 18 foot, Common Sense grade Otca model canoe with Half-Ribs and Open Spruce gunwales. This canoe is fitted for sailing as well as paddling and is ready to create pleasant memories for a new owner. This 1941 Old Town Otca model was meticulously restored in 2017. Most of the sail rigging is original to canoe. Mast has been rebuilt and original sail replaced with a period-correct 55 sq.ft. four-panel lateen sail with battens, in pale cream, with the look a feel of cotton. The canoe also sports a new custom-built floor rack, a brass flagpole socket, a painter ring and a period-correct Old Town decal. Additionally, the canoe comes with an original Old Town canoe chair, pennant, mast-top ribbon, photos of the recent restoration, and a copy of the original Old Town build record. This canoe was featured on the cover of the journal "Wooden Canoe", vol. 40, number 3, which contains her full story.

This is a Mead Batwing Sail Glider/Kayak. The Mead Company produced Glider Boats, Planes and bikes, since the 1920s. This glider is from the 1940s. Pictures include the original parts: Batwing Sail, Wood/Canvas Pontoons/ Rigging and toolbox with all the bolts/Misc. Hoping to find someone interested in this unique piece of Chicago history. This antique 16' cedar strip canoe made by the Peterborough Canoe company circa 1900 was completely restored in 2018.

This 17 foot, 1930's Dowsett Cedar Rowing Skiff, built in Portland Ontario is a fine example of Canadian craftsmanship. The boat has all of it's original fittings intact and in excellent condition. Has one pair of oars.

This beautiful sailboat (Shadow) was custom built in the Finger Lakes region on a Novia Scotia inspired vessel design. Shadow was originally owned by an estate and has been maintained stored and kept to the highest quality. Now on to her second owner, the quality and care still shows! The boat is currently located and can be viewed at the Pleasant Beach Inn, in Fairhaven, NY.

This St. Lawrence Skiff is of a unknown builder but bears all of the markings consistent with boats built on or near the St. Lawrence River. The boat is 15 Feet 10 inches long and 4 feet wide. At one time the skiff may have had a sail. It has been restored on the inside and fiberglassed on the outside. These boats are a reminder of how boat building looked over 100 years ago and how they were used as a form of communication, travel and socialization in and around the St. Lawrence River.

This is a 1956 Wittholz Design Sailboat. I have owned the boat for many years and have restored it twice during my tenure. It has a new main sail and an older job that are both in good condition. The inboard 8HP engine runs and starts well. The fittings are bronze and wood. The hull is an oak frame and sitka spruce. The centerboard is about 300 Lbs of Iron and is completed with an oversized rudder. The boat sits comfortably on a single axel trailer which holds the boat well and it tows nicely.

This is modern version of a Classic Sailing Skiff. Made by B&B Yacht Designs and called the "Amada" this boat was one that many first cut their teeth on as they entered the world of sailing. This boat is ready to be sailed again or to be used a display piece. It is in very good overall condition.

1929 with paperwork. Excellent condition save for some fraying of the canvas at the bow and stern which requires attention. Was stored under an enclosed porch for many years. Just discovered when cleaning out uncle's home (who was 93). Canvas only thing not original on this canoe. According to paperwork, hull was originally painted red. Water tight.

This is a beautiful rowing skiff built by W.J. Dowsett of Portland, ON. Dowsett built a variety of rowing skiffs, inboard motor skiffs, launches, and runabouts; many of which remain in the area today! This example has been lovingly restored with all new ribs and planking where necessary. Complete with an original set of Dowsett oars, which are very distinctive in their construction. These skiffs are a pleasure to row and the perfect addition to your cottage!

This is a fully restored Peterborough sailing skiff, made probably in the 1930s. You can find it in the reprint of the Peterborough catalog by Roger MacGregor in 1995, on page 35 with the specification chart on page 51. New sail. Complete boat. Restoration was complete in 1991 , sailed a few times for two or three seasons after and stored indoors ever since.

A very early Theodore Hanmer Adirondack Guide Boat. This is a flat back guide and one of only 3 built at that time. She was owned by a Family that lived on Skunk Misery Road in Oyster Bay and was last sold in 1965. She is made out of pine and is feather light. She has a yoke to portage and 2 sets of oar loacks for rowing from either end. The boat is in perfect condition except for a tiny chip in the floor. Not bad for a boat that is 105 years old. The cane seats and oars are in perfect condition. It has spent the last few years as a handing display in a private home in the 1000 Islands.

A historic birch bark canoe. These lightweight, wide, and short primitive canoes are exceptionally nimble and easy for one person to portage. They were ideal for trapping, fishing, and short distance travel with a small amount of gear. This is a beautifully preserved display piece that will make a great addition to your cabin or camp!

Steel manufacturing was quite an industry in the early 1900's, and manufacturers such as Mullins and F.H. Darrow took advantage of the growing market for watercraft and began to build marketable boats. F.H. Darrow Steel Boat Manufacturing Co. built this portable rowboat around 1915 when trailers were uncommon and the automobile was quickly gaining in popularity. They developed an ingenious design where a 16' rowboat could be broken down into 3 independent segments, nested one inside the other, and mounted on the running board of a car! Not only is the boat easily portable; each section can float independently. This design is very unique and represents an era when the concept of travel by road took off! She has been nicely restored and is complete with oars. Full documentation available.

This is a beautiful 18 ft. Antique Adirondack Guide Boat built by Parsons Brothers in Old Forge, NY, ca. 1922. It has been lovingly maintained in top shape by the current owner since 1986. Canes seats, maple oars, removable bottom board, and yoke included. This is a true collectors guide boat. Weighs approximately 96 lbs. fully fitted out with oars, seats, and yoke.

This is a traditional Indian made American birch bark canoe belived to be made in the 1890's. The canoe was built in the St. Lawrence County of New York near Watertown, New York. The owner bought the canoe at an Auction about six years ago. It is in good solid shape and appears to have had an old repair done on the bow. These boats are extremely hard to find in original condition and especially ones which have ben made using the traditional methods. Weighs only about 55 Lbs

You are looking at a tidy 10 foot Contemporary Birch Bark Canoe which was built using the traditional methods in 2003. The owner/ builder used it sparingly for one season and then hung it up in his home as a display piece. 1992 Elver canoe yawl, 20 feet. Construction is Cedar Stripped & Epoxy Sealed. Nice wooden sailboat that is easy to maintain. Very stable and easy to beach.

Pre-1920 restored Sebago skiff. This double-ended, all-wood 16' Sebago skiff was built in East Sebago, Maine, between 1890 and 1920. In 2011, Kevin Martin in Epping, N.H., restored it. Modern caulking was used to seal the planks and one stem was replaced. When last used two years ago, it was watertight and has been stored in a barn since. The skiff comes with a restored Holsclaw trailer with soft riding coil springs. The skiff has two pairs of 7-foot oars and oarlocks. It was made of elm or alder with the body having steamed cedar planking along with brass screws. The gunwale may be chestnut. The exterior is green Epifanes marine paint and the interior a Kirby light green tint. The Sebago is distinctive for the bead running along the first plank on the exterior, with the plank finished natural and everything below the bead painted. Will deliver within New England if driving costs are paid by buyer.

Nice Classic Lightning, sharp inside and out. Ceder sides and decks, mahogany transom and bottom recently restored, but not to show varnish, looks good enough that people think its wet.

Traditional Indian Made Birch Bark canoe which is estimate to have been built on the late 1890's. It has been in a private collection for many years and amongst an extensive Adirondack collection. The boat is correct, true and original weighing 55 Lbs, 14 feet in length and 40 inches in the beam. It would make a fantastic addition to any collection.

A 14 foot Flat Back Skiff owned by Ralph Earl brother to George Earl who was the Governor of Pennsylvania at one time. This boat came off of Camp Bullpout on Upper St. Regis Lake. It was later sold to Raplh Burger President and Chairman of A&P. Very nice flat back skiff ready for a small outboard. 14' flat back skiff originally owned by Ralph Earle, brother to George Howard Earle, Governor of Pennsylvania. The boat was stored at Mr. Earle's Great Camp, "Camp Bullpout" on Upper St. Regis Lake in the Adirondacks. Mr. Earle used the boat regularly with a small outboard motor for his boating pleasure. The boat was then acquired by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. Burger. Mr. Burger was President and Chairman of the Board of the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P) and would later become President/CEO of the John A. Hartford Foundation.

This rare Rushton Adirondack Guideboat has been in one family for many years. The Rushton has been used sparingly in the Southern Adirondacks and on rare trips to a lake in Canada. It has its original seat rails and yoke rail. There is also one original seat frame which would need to be re-caned. The middle and other rear seat are not original but also require caning. Hull has been fiberglassed. The label is a copper shield signifying its history as a Rushton.

This boat has been hand stripped and varnished with epiphanes varnish. It has a set of Ted Shea sculls as they are 10' long. The fore and aft decks were originally covered with canvas. The oar locks are made by Kern. This boat can be used or proudly displayed. It is truly a fine piece of maritime history.

This boat is early 1900's and is known as an "Adirondack Church Boat" apparently for the ability to place an outboard engine on the transom instead of rowing to church. Same hull design as guide boat, except for square transom. Deck, front and rear have been replaced and could be better done (not done as original). This is a very unique boat of both design and ability. A perfect small Adirondack lake boat in very good condition. More photos available on request.

This 17 foot OTCA Old Town Canoe was given to me by my sons for my 50th birthday. It was lovingly cared for and used on Lake Wentworth , New Hampshire for 18 years and has been in my garage for the last 10 years not being used. We have the build sheet history and great memories of the canoe but are simply not using it any longer.

1930's Peterborough "Campmate" outboard model. Fairly uncommon and in very original condition. 14 feet long, stored indoors for the last 20 years. Boat needs some restoration but is a nice survivor. Comes with a vintage Tee Nee trailer!

This boat was purchased in 1903 by a Mr. Loggie who has long since passed away. I bought thye boat in the 1970's and had it retsorede by a well known boat builder by the name of Philias Jimmo in the early 1970's and it is still in excellent condition today. While the boat appears to be of unknown origin it has been reviewed by people such as R. J . Cunningham the author of ship building in Atlantic Canada and the Chatham Museum.

One of the real classic Canoes in the history of Ontario. This 16 ft Cedar strip Lakefield canoe was made in Lakefield, Ontario in the early 1900's. Trim lines and a low profile make foe a very fast canoe. Covered, 1990, with a very light and transparent fiberglass coat means no "soaking up" is required to make it watertight with no loss of visual appeal. Note the unusual architecture of the front and rear decks. Thought to be the "Torpedo" model . Excellent condition as an heirloom and as a fully functional and usable canoe.

Built by Stumtown builders as a faithful reproduction to a St. Lawrence River Skiff this is an Open water rowing/sailing double ender. Tough nylon skin over steamed white oak ribs, trimmed in mahogany. Drop-in sliding seat rowing unit and hatchet oars. 54 sq. ft. balanced lug sail, centerboard, rudder, ready to go. On a nice trailer but also car top-able.

This traditional hand made birch bark canoe was built by the seller in the summer of 2010. Nails and split spruce roots are the fasteners, hand-split northern white was carved with the crooked knife to produce the stempieces, ribs, and planking. Detailed winter-bark etchings scraped into the birch bark, decorate the bark panels below the gunwale.The seams and ends of the canoe still need to be sealed with the traditional pine pitch which will render the canoe water-tight.

This is a unknown canoe builder but attributed to Walter Dean. It has the same lines/dimensions as Sunnyside Cruiser, 6 board basswood hull, rib/batten construction, flame mahogany decks, contemporary seats and thwart , restored and canvased by previous owner 25 years ago. Canvas is mint, decks ,ribs, battens, outwales, hull planking all original. Coaming replaced and in need of minor repair. Always stored inside, also has been attributed to "W. Madill Boat and Canoe Builders" in Orillia, Ontario.

This Old Town is in excellent shape and has been garage stored for decades...with very little use. Build sheet says it was delivered to Warrenton Building Supply in Warrenton, Virginia on May 12, 1960 for sale. Original color, original seats, all in great shape. Hull #169993

Only 8 canoe's of this type in existence. Dan Harold built canoes from about 1869-1889. The reason his boats were so unique is that the outside bottom of the boat only consists of 6 cedar boards. On the inside he laid a lead soaked cloth on the wood and put down cedar strips side by side (similar to hardwood floors). There is another boat like this one is the Canada science and technology museum, this is a very rare canoe.

This canvas covered, cedar canoe has been nicely restored and is in great shape. Dusty from storage, but nice condition. The builder is unknown but it is a factory built boat that would be a nice addition to the cottage or your collection.

This is the only Jackson skiff that we have ever had to sell. Jackson was an Ogdensburg, NY builder that built several skiffs of this length. It is unusual in it's decorative style, opposing color woods in the gunwale and decks and delightful ceiling boards the full length of the boat. Twin decorative oar locks with two sets of matched Shaw & Tenney oars. All hardware is brass and complete. Brass name plate indicates; Jackson Boat Works, builder, Ogdensburg, N.Y. This is a well built excellent two person skiff in great shape that was recently restored by the owner who is no longer boating due to age.

17 B.N. Morris Model A Type 1 circa 1915 SN 14175. Replaced 5 ribs and about 20ft of planking, 5 coats of gloss varnish on the inside, new canvas, filler, paint and fresh caned seats has floor boards. White cedar ribs and planking, White spruce closed rails, mahogany decks, thwarts and seat frames, brass flag holder in each deck. Morris was arguably the finest builder of wood and canvas canoes in the United States. He used only the highest quality materials and coupled them with superb craftsmanship. He produced canoes from about 1887 to 1920 when fire consumed his shop. This is a nice example of his work.

This is an ideal river sailboat because of its 560Lb shoal draft keel which only draws 2 Ft of water and is easily docked. It is a sturdy and safe boat which will takes a fair amount of weather. Sails are old and in useable condition. The air cooled motor is old but starts and runs well.

This Star sailboat was built in 1954 and is #3396. This is the largest class of sailboat in the world with over 10,000 people now sailing. She is a very fast sloop with a permanent weighted keel. This boat has a bending mast to allow a "pocket" in the sail to give it extra speed. The mast is aluminum, but the boom is mahogany. This boat was built by Old Greenwich Boat Co. Its name was "glider" and its original owner was R.I.Stearns of Chicago. Fully documented and all specs available. For a serious racer, this is an excellent value. It only needs one small area to be patched or have the plywood replaced as it has a bit of rippling delamination. It has always been stored inside.

My father, the 2nd owner, bought this canoe in 1941. Original wooden frame and decking are in good shape. Recanvased ~1960. Seats need to be re-caned. Seaworthy and ready for an outing. Two paddes and PFDs included. Serial #38218. Located near Warren, PA.

This is a very original Old Town sailing canoe. Complete with leeboards, masts, etc. Very recent restoration, excellent condition.

This is a very original Adirondack Guideboat built by Theodore Hanmer, estimated to be of early 1900's vintage. Oars included, and seats (not original)

This is a great example of a classic Old Town canoe. The Otca model is deep, wide, and roomy. It was designed to be large capacity, but able canoe. She has been completely restored and is ready to paddle. The seats have been re-caned and the hull has been made watertight with an original Old Town patch kit. Original documentation indicates it is canoe number 177077, order number 5156 and shipped on 8/8/67 to Marine Construction Co., Foot of Commerce Street. Wilmington Delaware.

This is an original Theodore Hamner Adirondack guideboat. It has always been kept up, and has been recently restored. Complete and ready to row.

A nice looking Old Town Canoe. It is 16 feet long and was used at a Boy Scot Camp. The boat has been put awayy and not used for more than 25 years. The canvas may need to be replaced but the canoe is otherwise in good condition.

This is a 1943, Old Town "Saccora" Model canoe. It is in good overall condition but could use some fresh paint on the hull. New price August '09! The boat was shipped in November of 1943. Serial number of the canoe 138142.

This is a very original and very deluxe Cuppernall of Clayton St. Lawrence Skiff. Birds Eye Maple decks and decorative styling on the decks make this a one of a kind. In excellent shape, this boat has been in the family of Cleveland Dodge for many years and has lived at the Dodge compound on Wild Goose Island, Clayton, NY. She is sailed each summer on the St. Lawrence River and of course comes with her complete sails, mast & boom. This boat has a file at the Antique Boat Museum and is a registered boat with that organization (number 216). The early production date of this skiff belies it's condition which is impeccable. As far as can be told, this boat has been in use annually on the St. Lawrence River since it's birth. The records show only one other owner since 1919. The price of this boat accurately reflects it's condition and rarity.

This is an excellant example of american craftsmanship original cond. My Great uncle repainted in 1951, I have reciept from Old Town Conoe Co. for 1qt paint. To the best of my knowlege nothing has been replaced. Wood appears to be orignal.

This is a sweet blue 16 foot Old Town canoe just waiting for a good home and someone to bring her back to her original glory. Interior is fair. One of the classic small boats of the world is the Penn Yan "Cartopper". Advertised as the answer to boat portability and convenience. A lightweight pretty little boat that will make a wonderful camp fishing boat or a nice decoration in the boat house. Excellent condition with original company logo's and tags.

This brand new 2010 Kevlar 15' Guideboat. The boat is sweet, fast, secure and beautiful. 15 feet, 68 pounds, carrying capacity 550 pounds +/-. The boat comes with a pair of 8 ft. Maple oars, caned cherry seats, 2 backrests, floorboards and a footbrace if ordered as options.

This is a lovely reproduction cedar strip canoe which is 90% complete at this point. Included with this canoe are most of the itemsd needed to finish the work. These include, a tube containing fiberglass cloth, a coat of resin and a row of ash strips to finish the inside and outside gunnel. Also inlcuded is a board for the forward and aft deck. The seats are ready and complete as is the center spreader bar.

Unknown builder of this boat that is estimated to be in the mid 1800's. A very typical Adirondack Guide Boat of that period with a straight stem and gently sheer. This is a boat that has very little known about it...but is obvious to have had a long and storied history in Northern New York.

This boat was made by Bill Vines from Ogdensburg, a well known builder. The boat was drawn on the lines of the original Hollis St. Lawrence River punt and was made for the Frederic Remington Museum annual fund raiser. It comes complete with the Fredeic Remington Museum and the paddles are hand painted. This is a one of a kind boat as the Remington Museum only had ONE of these boats made. The boat has a West System bottom to ensure that boat is alwasy ready for water and will require NO swelling.

This is a 15 Foot Common Sense Grade Old Town Canoe. the boat has been in the same family since 1950. The owner's ahve the original certificate from Old Town which goes with the boat along with a pair of paddles which are not as old as the boat. The boat was recanvassed 10 years ago.

A lovely and fine example of an early Old Town Canoe with the original numbers stamped in the hull and the original build order from Old Town. Accompanying the Old Town is a book on Old Town Canoes. These boats are fast becoming highly collectible because of their small production numbers and many times will end up adorning a boat house, great room or suspended from a ceiling as a conversation piece or artifact from a period gone by. Built in 1921 in the Craft Quimper in northern France and registered as Rescue boat in 1922. 65' two mast (the main one refitted last year). Anchor lift, wind station, generator. Mahogany, peachpine, teak. Idraulic rudder. Forward cabin, two toilets, kitchen, dinette convert., double cabin.

This is a reproduction of the classic Peterborough Canoe. The inner and outer stems as well as the in-whales and out-whales are made from ash. The striped decks are made from beautiful maple and walnut. Interior and exterior were covered in fiberglass cloth for superior strength and durability. The boat was launched for the first time September 2nd 2007 with great success. It is a stable design and with some practice, she is a snap to paddle.

1946 Old Town HW Guidesman canoe. Wood and canvas construction. She has been completely restored with new inner & outer rails, seats, decks, and keel.

Built in 1964-65 fir Fish Haden of Sodus Point. Dick Besse of Skaneateles bought the boat in the 1970's and won many races with it, including the Nationals in 1975. The current over bought the boat at an auction in Sodus Point in 1996 and refinished it to look original. It was used by the owner's daughter on the St Lawrence for 5 years, and has been in storage since 2002. New mahogany floorboards were installed in 2006.

For Sale: Exquisitely restored 1924 Old Town 16' wood and canvas canoe (Serial Number 82594). This is the Heavy Water model originally designed for river running. It has the AA grade construction of oak with mahogany trim and includes two paddles. The original build receipt shows it was shipped from the factory in Maine to a store in San Francisco in March 1924. Recently restored and newly painted and varnished. In excellent condition. Can deliver in Pacific NW for a negotiated charge.
