Howard Lyon was a smooth talking salesman who convinced Garwood to grant him the exclusive arrangement to sell his runabouts after Gar watched him successfully sell his 33 foot Baby Gar's in record numbers. Eventually going on to buid his own boats, Lyon purchased land in City Island, New York and went on to sell six different models of runabouts including the 30 foot Sea Lyon with a 200 HP Sterling Petrol engine which sold for $5950.00 in 1929. Known for their level riding and excellent visibility, 5 section windshiled the long deck boats were made to be at the high end of the market and compnared quite favorably to the other boats on the market at that time. The stock market crash ended his dream in 1952 and left behind a handful of exquisite boats including this vessel which WON the Lake Tahoe Show in 1990 and was lovingly sored away after that and has sat until nbow. the boat is in showroom condition today and is awaiting it's new owner.
