Fantail Launch –“TURTLE” Hull: Hard chime fantail displacement hull Weighs approximately 2,000lbs, took 5 years and 15,000 hours to complete. Designed, hand built and then launched in 2004 by master craftsman Ron Armstrong of Sombra, Ontario, on the St. Clair River. She is constructed with white oak and cedar frames, and Brazilian mahogany decking and planking. As seen in the Summer 2005 Edition of Classic Boat Magazine. (copy included in sale) Peoples Choice Award – Gravenhurst Boat Show 2005 Intricate Carvings and gold inlay throughout. Custom built dual axle trailer (by Mel Trail) Transport Canada Registered. Includes a fully restored set of 1914 Chestnut Canoe Company Oars Gliding over the water, this Fantail displacement hull reflects the slow moving dignity of its living namesake. Unfortunately, with the recent passing of Ron, this one of a kind classic is up for sale. Must be seen to be appreciated.
