This 23' boat was fashioned directly from photos of the original 26' 1922 Chris Smith 'Packard - Chris Craft' Racer. (That boat won the Gold Cup Race in Detroit the year she was built .) The boat was build by Mike Michaut, a prominant boat builder in southern Maine. The seller has supplied me with a very informative web link that lays out the history of this Packard/Chris race boat and the early Chris era. That link is www.speedboatclassics.com/chris_craft_legend.htm This boat has no more than 40 hours on it, and is as new. When not in use, she was removed from the water, not tied to a dock.
