Arguably the best all round Chris Craft for someone looking for versatilty, practicality, affordability, dryness and quality of riding is the U-22 Sportsman. Probably the most recognized classic because of it's role in "ON GOLDEN POND", the film credited with jump starting the vintage boat hobby. During the postwar period the Sportsman outsold the runabouts by up to 20%. Since Honduran and Phillipine Mahogany were in short supply after the war the 1948 Sportsmans were planked with cedar and the hulls were painted white as cedar did not finish well under varnish. This boat has all of the features seen in Sportsmans including an accesible open cockpit, folding top, versatilty and rear bench seating. This boat has been repainted and refinished and is ready to be enjoyed. It is highlighted by a brand new 3M bottom which was just installed this past summer. New splash rails, working spotlight and original guages.All harware is original and in good condition.
