1929 Port Carling Boatworks Seabird Launch -- rare, early original After the collapse of the Disappearing Propeller Boat Company in 1924, Wm. Johnston Jr. along with several employees formed a limited company—the Port Carling Boat Works in Port Carling,Ontario. Very few of their earliest efforts are known to have survived. This 1929 triple cockpit is the second oldest known example of the launch design built by this company. The first launch was named “Seabird”. From then on all the launch models built were called Seabird . This boat is carvel planked with smooth sides and comes equipped with her original Buchanan "Bulldog" 6 cylinder engine. Cedar topsides with Mahogany decking. She is all original and equipped with her original, operating 6 cylinder “Buchanan Bulldog Engine. The boat requires refinishing. Chrome has been replated.
