1961 Andrews 25-Foot Slipper Launch | Boat No. 451 | With Custom Trailer Offered for sale is Lady of Iona, a rare and beautifully preserved 25-foot Andrews Slipper Launch, built in 1961 by J. Andrews & Son of Bourne End, Buckinghamshire. She is boat number 451 and the last of seven consecutive 25-foot launches built that year, making her a particularly desirable example of this iconic British marque. Lady of Iona underwent a full professional rebuild in 2003 by Trevor Green & Co. (Henley-on-Thames), including a new Iroko bottom, chine repairs, new hull sides, hatch frames, and striking alternating African and Brazilian mahogany decking. A further refurbishment was completed in 2017 in Muskoka, Ontario, by James Osler Classic Boat Restoration, with her original Austin Vedette 4-cylinder marine engine comprehensively rebuilt by Matt Fairbrass (Whiteside Mechanical), also based in Muskoka. The cockpit features four Lloyd Loom wicker chairs, recessed lighting, renewed wiring, exceptional high-gloss varnish work, and traditional gold-leaf name and cove lines. She presents to a very high standard throughout. Since being imported to Canada in 2003, Lady of Iona has been stored in a boathouse in Muskoka, north of Toronto, and has always been kept out of the water on a lift, ensuring excellent long-term preservation. She has been a regular exhibitor at the Antique & Classic Boat Society (ACBS) Toronto Chapter’s Muskoka Show, earning multiple awards for presentation and authenticity, including 1st Place Platinum – Classic Inboard (2025), and was recently featured in an ACBS publication highlighting outstanding classic craft. The boat is offered with a custom-built trailer and can be loaded onto the trailer in the spring. A comprehensive binder documenting her history, provenance, and restorations is included and can be shared digitally with serious buyers. Additional photos, engine details, dimensions, and technical information are available. A rare opportunity to acquire an award-winning Andrews Slipper Launch with exceptional provenance and meticulous care.
