Centerboard sailing canoe believed to be owned by copper mogul Adolf Lewisohn of New York City, and came from his estate on Upper Saranac Lake in the Adirondack Mountains. Mr. Lewisohn met Thomas Edison and at Mr. Edisons advice, soon thereafter bought copper mines with his brother and father bringing them vast wealth overnight. This is a rare canoe with all mahogany trim, including the centerboard trunk and solid bronze centerboard. The 3 year restoration includes a new dacron sail and authentic rigging and hardware. Finely detailed pinstriping, outer stems and AA grade trim make this canoe stunning. Approximately 50 of these were made by the Old Town Canoe Company. Pretty rare indeed.
