1978 Riva St Tropez 117 of 317 History The Riva St Tropez was one of the pioneering boats for Riva in the 1970’s as it was an example, along with the Rudy and Sport Fisherman of the company’s transition from wood to fiberglass. The design of the boat, executed by Giorgio Barilani, was avant garde and trendsetting at the time. With its Deep V and long spear shaped bow, it typified the direction speedboats would take in the years to come. The Sea Ray Pachanga and Glastron CV23HT were undoubtedly influenced by the St Tropez. This Boat Before it was purchased by its current owner, this boat was said to have served as a hotel resort shuttle for guests doing day trips on the Mediterranean. The current owner purchased the boat in 2016 from its then home on Lago d’Iseo, it was water tested before shipment. Photos and videos available. The boats condition on purchase delivery was excellent as all the interior upholstery had been replaced ‘as new’, the pads in the V birth are still wrapped in their original plastic. Transport was arranged by the Seller to Genoa for loading on a Container Ship to Oakland, Ca - USA. The boat was sealed with shipping cocoon to protect from the elements as the shipping platform was a ‘ Short Box Container Pallet’. Pictures are provided to illustrate the shipping and care taken to protect the boat during Ocean Voyage. The boat arrived in Oakland Terminal on June 7, 2016 and then transported to Lake Tahoe, California. After 2 Seasons of use at Lake Tahoe the Boat was transported to Couer d’Alene Idaho on a CTW Custom Made 3 Axle Trailer (Included) to Hagadone Marine Group, where it resides today. The overall condition of the vessel is excellent. The Gel Coat looks fresh with minimal crazing. The interior is in excellent with the V-birth cushions still wrapped in plastic. The engine compartment is tidy and clean. The Navy stripe across the bow could use a fresh coat of paint as well as the red throttle balls, but other than that, the boat is in exceptional condition. The CTW triple axel trailer was made specifically for the boat and is as new. Mechanically the engines fire up right away and run smooth and strong. The boat cruises at 35-40 mph effortlessly.
