1961 Chris-Craft 17’ Ski Boat – Chris-Craft 283 V8 1961 Chris-Craft 17’ Ski Boat powered by a Chris-Craft Model 283 V8 rated at 185 HP. This is a nice driver-quality classic that has been enjoyed and maintained, but it is not being represented as a show-quality or concours restoration. The mahogany presents well, the interior is in good condition, and the boat retains the classic Chris-Craft styling and hardware that make these 17’ Ski Boats so desirable. The boat retains its original wood bottom. As expected with an original bottom, it requires soaking after being out of the water and typically takes approximately 24 hours to fully swell and tighten. The Chris-Craft 283 V8 presents very well and makes this a great boat for someone looking for a classic Chris-Craft that can be enjoyed rather than simply displayed. Details: * 1961 Chris-Craft 17’ Ski Boat * 17’ length * Chris-Craft Model 283 V8 * 185 HP * Original wood bottom * Approximately 24-hour soak time * Mahogany hull * Good interior * Classic Chris-Craft hardware and instrumentation * Tandem axle trailer included * Driver-quality condition The boat shows normal age and imperfections consistent with a 65-year-old wooden boat. I have tried to represent the condition accurately in the photos and am happy to provide additional pictures or information to serious buyers. A great opportunity for someone looking for a very presentable and usable classic Chris-Craft without paying the price of a show-quality restoration.
