1956 Wagemaker #9 Super Deluxe 16 foot ply-lap This solid, rot free boat was stored upside down in the loft of a dry barn in Michigan for more than 40 yrs. The 16 ft ply-lap was one of the most expensive models produced in 1956. Restoration began in late 2021. The hull was stripped down to bare wood. Pettit products were used throughout the restoration for sealing, paint and varnish (9 coats). All hardware was restored. An original (damaged) windshield was used as a pattern to make the new one. The Mercury 35A (with electric start) was revived with assistance from Waterhogs Works. The motor has two props, 2 yr old battery, two keys, period correct controls and a beautifully restored fuel tank. "Maiden" voyage was May 2024. The boat can comfortably host six passengers at 15-17mph. Since restoration, the boat has completed less than 10 hours of run time and has been enjoyed each of the past two summers with friends and family. In August 2025 the boat was awarded 1st place in the outboard boat class at the 2025 Les Cheneaux boat show in Hessel, MI. The sale also includes a custom cover, new seat cushions for the first and second row seats, a modern trailer and a pair of very rare Wagemaker water skis. The boat is offered at $7950.
