Exterior finish needs attention but the wood is sound.|

|Completely restored 22’ 1957 Shepherd, completed Spring 2019: Full-engine detail to the Chrysler 331 V8 engine — tuned with new spark plugs and wires, carburetor service, oil change and a light overhaul of the V-drive with new cross shaft seals and hub housing gaskets. The Shepherd has a new “no soak” 3M 5200 bottom which includes a new keel, all new white oak bottom framing, new inner planking and new mahogany outer planking. The hull side planking has been removed and reinstalled in 3M 5200 and refastened. The remainder of the hull has been stripped to bare wood, finished with 15 coats of varnish applied. In addition, all new Naugahyde seats (white with red piping) and new flooring installed. Seats 7-8 people. Top speed approx. 40 knots. |This 24 Foot Shepherd Hardtop Runabout is in excellent condition. The owner has received many awards and used the boat for many seasons always in fresh water. The 24 Foot Hardtop with crank up side windows and windshield wipers provides both space for friends and foul weather protection when cruising. Shepherd offered hardtop versions of their classic open V drive cruiser but very few were built. The hardtop version has 6 more inches of freeboard and another foot forward. The hardtop arrangement accommodates eight people under cover, and seating for four more than the open cruiser arrangement. The original Hemi V-8 has been rebuilt. IN addition the transom has been replaced, the chines, frames and all of the interior side paneling, flooring, and fuel tank have been replaced. All seats have been re-upholstered which matches the steering wheel. Finishing the boat off is a removable maple picnic table. which can be installed in front of the rear bench. |
