Although not well known john l. hacker moved to Watervliet, New York in the or around 1910 and continued to manufactrure boats under the name of Albany once Hacker changed it's name. This continued onto about 1934 when they closed. The present owner has had the boat for many years and simply has never gotten around to restoring the boat. | Construction of this Commuter began in 1936. She was completed and remained unused until June of 2010! It was built from a set of Hacker lines. The builder of the boat was a Detroit based inventor. The 140hp Chrysler engine has never been fired and the twin fuel tanks never held gas. The boat sat on a sturdy, supportive cradle until very recently. It had no rot, no notable damage, and had spent nearly no time outdoors. The gauges showed only 0.2 hours of running time!
