| The Fitzgerald and Lee company was based in Alexandria Bay and at one time was the largest dealer of Gar wood's in America. This is a very rare and unusual model made by this builder as it is a 22 foot Commuter which was configured to protect the original owner from inclement weather as he traversed back and forth from his Island in the 1000 Islands and mainland. This boat has only had 2 owners since new as it was bought from the original owner and has remained in the St. Lawrence River all of it's life. The boat itself has been completely re-done with a new bottom and is in Show Condition. Photos are available for those interested showing the work done during restoration as well as original paperwork showing the initial purchase. | ||||

| This is a 28' custom built, mahogany-planked, chauffeur-driven fishing boat that was ordered and delivered to Dewey Island, just opposite Alexandria Bay which opertaed from 1930-1950. While similar to other social/fishing launches, it differs from most in that it was planked smooth skinned design of lapstrake and has a large cockpit layout with a separating roll up window that gave the hull an opulence afforded by people such as the owner whom was the chairperson of the Republican party for the State of Delaware. Requires restoration but this boat has an incredible history. the boat was featured in Bob Speltz "The Real runabouts, Volume V" on page 145. | ||||
