This lovely 1936 Gar Wood Special Runabout has a well documented history. Always a Canadian boat until recently; she was purchased new in 1936 by a 1000 Islands summer resident for his daughter's 16th birthday. "Acorn" was comprehensively restored in the 1990's, including a full bottom replacement in the traditional method. Well maintained since, low usage, and a 12V electrical system for reliable starting. Recent hull survey and compression test (excellent). Only 7 of these model-616 runabouts were built in 1936 and this is probably the most correct version in existence. Varnish, chrome, and upholstery are in great shape - this little Gar Wood is ready to enjoy!
