Project Cruiser: 1954 36’ Chris-Craft Commander, twin MLRs. "Mystère" is a hardtop 6-sleeper in quite original condition (second owner), many awards and used for calendar covers. Structure, mechanics, and electricals all in good condition when dry-docked 8 years ago, but even with coverings, the weathering damage is significant. This boat deserves ‘saving’ but will require extensive and complete cosmetics including all brightwork, topsides and bottom, wood repair/replacement in both gunwale ‘cubbies’ and stern corners, upholstery, carpeting. If you can handle the work, you will have a valuable and fabulous boat. Other than the in-water shot, the pictures show present condition. Converted to 12V DC and modern AC panel, three Guest switches, two ProMariner chargers, Jabsco bronze water pumps, modern fuel filtration, Pertronix ignition, Federal drive couplings, bronze exhaust elbows, Marelon thru-hulls, modern water heater and fridge, full canvas cover and extra cockpit cover with side window panels, various engine and hardware spares including extra bronze props and driveshafts.
