This 1935 Gar Wood is said to be the eighth of 100 20' utility models built between 1935 and 1938. The boat features Philippine mahogany construction, an open cockpit design with offset seats, and a Chrysler Crown inline-six. First shipped by rail car to George N. Varney Company on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, it was brought to Lake Tahoe and named Whiskey in 1992. A restoration was carried out by Western Runabouts of Lake Tahoe in 1993, and the vessel reportedly earned best of show at the subsequent 21st Annual Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance. The V-type hull is made of mahogany and measures 20' long and 6' 8? wide. “Gar Wood” script can be found on both sides of the hull, and the boat’s name, Whiskey, is painted on the transom. Black rubber step pads are fitted on the dark-stained gunwales, and bright hardware includes the cutwater, rub rails, and quarter rails. Comes on a tandem axle trailer.
